About Haifong

In 1997, motivated by his passion for Go, Mr. Lin Wenbo decided to donate thirty million NT dollars to establish a foundation aimed at promoting Go. With the full support and agreement to serve as the inaugural chairman from national Go player Lin Haifong, the "Haifong Cultural and Educational Foundation" was established, embarking on the mission to promote Go. Due to the significant financial and manpower investments required for organizing professional and amateur competitions, the Haifong Foundation has grown rapidly with long-term financial support from Chairman Lin Wenbo. However, to better organize professional competitions, it was deemed necessary to restructure the organization. Chairman Lin decided to merge the "Haifong Cultural and Educational Foundation" into the "Pei Sheng Cultural and Educational Foundation" to achieve a synergistic effect greater than the sum of its parts.

The Pei Sheng Cultural and Educational Foundation, another charitable organization funded by Chairman Lin Wenbo and his family, has been engaged in special education work. With more resources than the Haifong Cultural and Educational Foundation, the merger allowed the Haifong Foundation to successfully complete its mission and pass the baton to the "Pei Sheng Cultural and Educational Foundation." The staff of the original Haifong Cultural and Educational Foundation were reorganized to meet the needs of Go promotion, forming the "Haifong Go Academy" to continue working on the frontline of Go promotion.
